Ok so I am debating on whether to pull the motor or not I am not convinced its the rod bearing but it very well could be . it clatters like a diesel engine at idle and up to like 1500 rpm then it goes away completely then when it idles back down its back.
Now when it is cold right after I start it. it doesn't make that noise till after a minute of idling then it starts.
Also after I drive it for a while and it is good and warmed up it is a lot more faint you can still here it but probably about half as loud.
I attached two video's the first one is probably 5 min after starting the car so it’s about halfway warmed up. there is a lot of engine noise so it is a bit hard to hear what I am talking about so I attached a second video with the hood down from the outside of the car you can hear it better.
Most of noise seams like it is coming fro the backside of the block. the balance shaft is removed.
Oil press at idle cold is 80psi
Oil press at idle hot is 20psi
Oil presser driving cold is 90-100psi
oil presser driving hot is 50 or so
so my question is what's causing that noise and should I be driving it or not.
thanks for the help guys.
