Auto-RS-T's "attachment's" are all errors, that's why it's not easy to follow anymore. If he could revise the attachment to pictures on imgur or something, it would help someone like me who is back on the scene after a little dsm-hiatus.

...Unless 91GSX wants to modify the post to a newer full write up ??? :applause::sneaky::hellyeah:

My 1g track car was done and we just raced it for almost 1000km. The woman driver on the team was stressed out and didnt handle it well, the guys had no problem. My first stint was 2 hours and I was ok, my second stint I lasted 80 minutes and was pulled from the car, I was hot, but that was a bit due to having no power steering. So in my opinion, no PS sucks in the parking lots but is fine for driving :). We didnt put all that much grease in when we did ours. Enough to coat the parts but its not packed in solid. Time will tell.

For what it's worth, I performed this mod without welding the spline/torsion bar mechanism and although it improved road feel there was now turbo lag in my steering. I didn't like the slop so I tore everything out again and welded it up. It made a noticeable improvement. The weld wire that was used is called "Mold 880" which is a Ni-Cr wire that was recommended off of another site. I had to buy a pound and have several sticks left over so if anybody would like some PM me.
