Now that I no longer live in Cali I see people talking about Buttonwillow and Thunderhill... damn, I was always the only DSM out at those tracks when I went too. My friends and I started doing a "Day After Thanksgiving" Buttonwillow event before I moved away - they'll be there doing it again this year. Too bad I wasn't able to meet up with you guys before I moved - now I'm surrounded by drag racers here in Colorado. I've only been able to get one other DSMer out to a road course event this whole season.

We have our fair share of tracks around here.

If you should ever make your way out here I'll go out with you.:rocks:

A little closer to you...

Hey Evan - yeah, I've been on all of those tracks except for the one in Reno. I'm actually a member of NASA out here in Colorado now. We don't have nearly as many tracks but the nice thing about being out here is, there will likely be a couple built in the near future - something that likely won't happen in CA for a while, if ever.

I couldn't make the inaugural Miller event this year due to the car being down. That would have been a 7 hour drive anyway. We have two local tracks here - one is 1.5 hours away and the other is 2.5 hours. I've raced both and they're pretty fun. Not the level of any of the Norcal tracks in terms of facilities, but they're still plenty fun. There is at least one new track that will soon be built about 1.5 hours away and it will be 5 miles+ long. Not to mention the 3-5 other proposals for new tracks that are being talked about out here. Pretty soon we'll have the same amount of tracks as Norcal, and they'll be cheaper to race on. :)

I do plan on coming out to Cali to visit friends every now and then and one of them has a car that I'll be able to use for track days (not a DSM unfortunately). So I'll let you know when I come out. We'll have to meet up.
