slow old poop: let me know what events you are going to or in our area in 07, It will depend if i have my race car done yet but for the spring mfba I will probably just bring my street car again with a lot better tires r25a (hoosier's stickiest tire) and of course more hampster under the hood.

The NASA schedule hasn't been posted yet, but in this area they typically have events at:

Blackhawk Farms (southern Wisconsin)
Road America (Wisconsin)
Autobahn (Illinois)
MidAmerica Motorplex (Iowa)

I may or may not run Speedseekers at Road America in April. Depends on if it conflicts with a NASA event.

We run one-day events at MidAmerica Motorplex ($150, all the laps you can stand) through the year. We use them as a test n' tune day.

Someday, we'll get up to Minnesota to run at (can't remember the track). If I can hit 140 at 6500 rpm at Road America on the 3/4 mile straights, it ought to top out at 7200 on that 1+ mile straight...maybe 150?

We love one-day events, and will run over to Autobahn or Blackhawk Farms if anybody is having one, like AMS.

You'll get plenty of warning, because I usually post something here about a month before an event.

Rich,

The track you are talking about is Brainard.

Also I can't wait to meet both of you next spring. a25s are seriously sticky however the wear I would expect to be horrible. We run them on the indy but it weights less than 500lbs. I couldn't imagine it on my 2500+lbs DSM.

Another new and semi local track is Hastings NE They have a tenitive 2007 schedule

I found another way how to easily make the steering wheel disconnect and a easy extension.

Get a 1/4 to 3/8 pipe reducer, thread the 1/4" pipe side on the threads of the steering shaft. Then thread the 3/8 nipple (what ever length you need) To move the wheel back about 3 inchs you use a 3" nipple. You can then easily weld the hex piece to the 3/8 nipple with virtually no slop. I also Highly recomend tack welding (or full bead) around the reducer coupling and steering shaft. This way you can still utilize the stock wiper/signal switch and it looks decent once painted and ground smooth.
