No rally forum?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

What some people don't recognize it that 1ge DSMs were top of the foodchain cars to have in both Open class and production GT classes in N America for several years. Yeah, there were turbo Audi Quattros, a couple Ford Cosworths, some graymarket JDM WRXs and Evos, ...but for anyone on a budget the DSM was the obvious choice.

DSM was never topdog in dragracing; no import was. And in roadracing, AWD and traction rarely ever mattered and most any 2wd car had a weight and less stuff to break advantage. Those motorsports have dedicated forum, yet rally were these cars regularly won events and the Production class (GT) in the US and Canada does not.

Popcorn anyone?

These guys sponsored by one of first microwave popcorn companies and were always handing out freebies at rallies.

We REALLY need a rally forum. Superbad!

We're in the Racing & Motorsports sub-forum already, that should cover rally. Maybe the title of this sub-forum can be Road Course, Autocross, and Rally.

The trick to making that happen is start vigorous, scintillating rally discussion which can no longer possibly exist with the addition of the word rally in the title. Right on! I'll read it. :hellyeah:

So, you are suggesting that instead of everyone posting in the "No Rally Forum?" thread, we keep creating new threads about rally in the 'Roadcourse & AutoX' forum until the roundy-round racers and cone-squishers also complain that rally squalk is overrunning their forum?

Brilliant!

"LIKE" LOL +1 to this :thumb:

So, you are suggesting that instead of everyone posting in the "No Rally Forum?" thread, we keep creating awesome new threads about rally in the 'Roadcourse & AutoX' forum until the roundy-round, roadcourse and cone-squishers racers are spending all their time reading about rally and loving every minute despite the fact they're in a section which omits the word rally in the title?

Brilliant!

Spot-on sir. (I did some slight editing)

Just a relentless invasion of attention grabbing vigorous discussion

+++++1000000000 for new Rally form and +++++10000000000 for the Idea...
I love the dirt roads and gravel down here, and the look on peoples faces when they a little inline four without a turbo and front wheel drive ripping up the dirt at high speed is priceless.
I wish there was a dedicated forum so that it would be easier to find info on rallying because I am interested myself and would like to learn from people more experienced than me.

Someone needs to start a thread and get this rolling. Who's it gonna be??

What kind of thread? In the suggestions maybe? Cause we have this thread and it has started an awareness of sorts, but maybe we can get a post rolling in the suggestions/feedback section to actually bring it to the attention of all the mods/admin/owner?

There's a thread that was started in the "hangout" by gravedigger and it had a Porsche GT3 rallying. I thought it was cool and added to it, with some of my favorite stuff. I don't know if we can try something similar and bring the DSM into it somehow and have some discussions about prep for the car, driving skills, etc but at least it's out there.
Here's the thread link.

Haha, I was jsut on that thread. Maybe we can start a dedicated rally video thread or something, I mean ya we can add to that, but if someone were looking for videos of rally stuff I think they may skip over the porsche thing, create a few serperate threads about different aspects of rally maybe?

I think that's a good idea and I'm sure there's enough info that can be tied to the DSM circle to keep it justified as part of this site. Guess we need to start posting and see what we can hustle up.:sneaky:

Alright...
Jumped the gun and started a thread in the hangout. here's the link.

Let's see what we can do. Add to it or start your own.:hellyeah:
