I'm putting a 16G into my 97 GSX soon. I'm trying to figure out whether I want to go with the ETS &" Street Intercooler or if I should go with a Supra Side Mount. I'm only trying to go 340awhp tops... for now.
Any advice on which one you guys prefer would be greatly appreciated!

I researched your exact question to death and I ended up going with the VRSF kit. Can't beat 290 shipped.

VRSF for sure can't beat the price or reviews. Waiting until memorial weekend to make my purchase. See what sales come up if any.

After seeing many many daily driven dsms all the intercooler are the same, but ets is another story I got way better results when I switched to them. The vr speed factory the punishment the Ssautochrome are ok they ran fine no issues but vest results where with ets. Plus there customer service rocks.

Thanks everyone, I looked into the Vrsf but I can't justify cutting up this car too much haha, ETS bolting up to the support is drawing me in....

I love ETS, their intercoolers are one of my favorites, and I've seen quite a few the past couple years. After my LSX swap, if I decide to turbo it, I will be buying an ETS product. Great looking, great performing, quality products.

With the ETS kit, it gives you room to grow, if you want to change your set up. If you only plan to run a 16g, you would be fine with a cheaper kit like the vrsf kit.

I really just don't want to have to cut into the car much, that's why I like the ETS

If I were you id rock a supra sidemount for now. Then when your ready to put the bigboy pants on and make power, buy a race core.

We have guys running 10s and pushing over 700whp. Limiting our intercooler to a 16g would be a waste ;)

Will Stanton currently holds the record for top trap speed and et on the stock block running our 2g kit. You can't push that much power on the stock block without incredible cooling ability.

Even though Cory just beat my record at the Shootout, I am still using this kit on my current build to retake the stock 7-bolt block record. I don't see any reason why this kit won't run 9's on my car (and believe me....it will)! 10.33 and 137 don't lie...running over 38-40psi through this kit. I have DSMLink logs that show minimal AIT increase on super hot track days running 40psi through this core! I've owned ETS, Punnishment, and VRSF....and ETS was nice, but for a 1/3 of the cost, this VRSF kit freaking is AWESOME!

I agree, ETS is a really nice product, but I just cannot justify spending $900 on an intercooler kit.. especially when the vrsf kit punches out the same numbers for a fraction of the cost. So you have to cut into the support, so what? They make aftermarket supports you can buy if it will give you piece of mind.. better off getting something that isn't all that expensive, and put the rest towards tires or something.. just my .02
