Milton,
Well after a miss-shift, not much was left undamaged on my 7-bolt 4g63. I went ahead and pick up a 6-bolt 4g63 for a complete build up.
Current mods:
-Forced Performance Green Turbo
-Ported exhaust manifold
-3" dp and exhaust
-port and polished head
-Dual valve springs, retainers, and valves.
-Magnus Intake Manifold (new style)
-many other little supporting mods
I'm going to be getting the rotating assembly balanced, and blocked bored .30 over.
I'm having trouble deciding what rods I should go with.
The two popular choices for rods I see on here are Eagles and Crower. What I don't see are people running Pauter rods. Coming from the Honda community i've read alot of good things about Pauter rods. I've also seen many posts about bent Crowers rods, and warnings to stay away from them.
There is about a 100$ of difference between the rods starting with Eagles being the cheapest. But I would rather spend a little more money on a better rod (whatever that might be) and not break down the road due to a rod failure and have to spend five times as much.
I just wanted to hear some opinions.
Also, I think I should note my power goals. I'll be aiming for 500+ whp and will be upgrading to a bigger turbo next season.
Thanks for looking.
