I have a 99 gsx with a small Greddy fmic (long route)and big t28 with 19 psi. Thinking of upgrading to a big 16g. Would you get a short route punishment racing set up or keep the small Greddy long route? I'm also looking for a t-body elbow that is long and hooks to the blow off pipe. It's s shaped and bolts to the the t-body.I had a GM/Maft and cut it to install now I'm going speed density. I've looked around and can't find one like I had. Thanks for all the help.

I would take the PR kit. Short route is far superior to long route. Besides, I think the Greddy has the longest piping too for any long route kit.

For your elbow issues, the best route would be to weld more pipe to your existing TB elbow or if one is included, get it welded on that.

If that doesn't work, you can go with a 1g N/T TB after porting your IM inlet to 60mm. The N/T TB has a couple attachment to it so you can customize your setup that way as well too.

^^Agreed. I also have the small Greddy and am seriously thinking about changing. I like how the PR fills up the front bumper opening also. OCD kicking in.

^^That's one reason I was thinking of upgrading also. Will the short route be better than (less flow) from a cheaper IC? The t-body elbow is aftermarket but I don't know who makes it. I have found a few but they are $60-70 and a short route is $150+ or the PR kit with bigger IC is $399.

Hey bj... I have FP fully ported big T28. I would not consider a big16 a serious upgrade from the big T28. I mean if you are going to spend the money on a turbo upgrade then go to the next class of turbo not something so similar. My buddys 2g awd DSM was producing nearly identical numbers on his evo3 16g as I am on my big T28. In fact we were both running burned chips from keydriver with almost identical setups and our chips are burned identically. Ken from keydriver considers them the same turbo. The very least I would consider an upgrade would be a fp hta68 turbo.
I can understand wanting to go for short route ic piping. It is a proven upgrade.

You can retain fog lights with PR IC kit. There are quite a few pictures floating around on here showing just that.

Thanks for the info. I got a used b16g for $200 so I'm going to port it and order the PR intercooler kit and thinking of polishing the comp housing. Then sell the greddy front mount, piping and port the bt28 and sell also.

Our FMIC kit will be back in stock and ready for shipment in about a week. We include a TB elbow with it. PM for more details.

Hey,
Our FMIC Kit let you keep the foglights, our kits are always in stock and ready to ship out. If you have any questions on it or want some pictures of the kit installed PM.

+1 on the punishment fmic. Just got mine in the mail and its the best bang for the buck. Will post pics later when i have a chance to install. Also going with a 16g at the same time. Turbo looks clean mate :)

Update* Just opened the fmic box to take it out and get ready to install and it was the wrong finish. I ordered the flat black one and not the polished aluminum. But credit received to Punishment for the fact that they owned up to a mistake and are sending me the right one asap. +1 again goes to punishment racing!
