Cx racing intercooler

So I did a boost leak test today (car is idling at 1800 rpm, can't get it any lower and I'm s.d. with a 10.0 afr) and my intercooler, couplers, a pipe and the bov are all leaking.

The intercooler is a spearco unit and has two threaded holes in the driver's side. I ran two bolts in and it's not leaking anymore.

The piping is pretty bad and the bov is a vortech bypass valve that's got a broke cap.

I'm using a GT35r turbo and wanted to know:

1 - there are mixed reviews on the cx fmic kits but most are from 2012 and earlier. Any one use one? Car is a 90 and.

2 - any bov reviews for their knock off type s?

CX racing intercoolers suck 200* iat at the end of a pass. I bought abig Garret core and now it's ambient. It's up to you to decide if you have lower hanging fruit

Well im sure it all depends on your setup. perhaps you had to much turbo for that core because my intake temps don't get anywhere near that high with a 14b @ 20psi.

I kept my fog lights on this install just FYI.

well damn I was under the impression you couldn't run fog lights with the VRS kit. Looks like I got some bad info on the internets ( imagine that )

Well just about anything is "doable". It really wasn't a hard install. I just wanted a short route kit and it was a stuff but it works real good. There are better intercoolers but this works for me very well. Temps will rise if I hot lap it but normal conditions of driving (that leaves it wide open ), it keeps temps very manageable. Even running it hard in 85-90* weather I think I see 105 but it cools right down. It does block a lot of air with the PS cooler in there and not a lot of places for air to get to the radiator but I put a air dam on the under side and that thing really works good to give the cooling system some much needed extra air.

A friend of mine put down 480hp on a 3052 with e85, so it's possible to make power with them.
