My cv axle axle wont come out of the transmission on the passenger side. I have been trying for 2 hours to pry it out with a 3 foot pry bar and its not budging. Can someone help me out, dropping the transmission and all that isn't an option isn't an option since this is my dd and I need it in a day for work and school. Any suggestions

If prying with a 3' pry bar isn't working there is probably a circlip that is holding it on.
I got it out I had to kick the crap out the pry bar but when it came out transmission fluid started pouring out is that normal?

fluids normal, youll want to top it off.

they can be a pain some times, I bought these angled pry bar things just for this purpose, yes usually requires kicking and then they pop out.

For next time (or others reading this) you need to pry axle out the first inch with a flat blade screwdriver between the inner CV housing (green thing) and tranny on each side of that housing 180* apart. Apply equal pressure on each side and it will pop out easily.

+1 I just used this method took me 20 seconds

I just wedged the flat blade between the transmission aND axle and tap end of the flat blade with a hammer and poof magic!

Thanks everyone I got it replaced, I used a 3ft angled pry bar to shove in there and gave it a real good kick. Changed the tranny fluid and filter while I was at it

Thumbs up, If you replace axles it's best to use oem. After market ones sometimes have incorrect ring locks wich causes them to get stuck had this experience with one trans just about knocked the car off the lift trying to get it out. Had to cut boot to get it out.
The one I removed was oem but I put a Duralast gold one in to replace it but hopefully I wont have to change it again for a couple of years

Can you apply this method to 1g's? I remember struggling myself

When I pulled my transaxle, I removed the driver side half shaft. The end of the passenger side cv axle is feel-able through the spline hole for the driver side. I took a flat pin and smacked it with a mallet until it wouldn't come out anymore, and then it pried out fairly easily with the prybar.

We came acrossed the same problem. How ever I had the Intake off the car and I had a 4ft pry bar in there. Finally got on the ground and stuck a flat screw driver in there to get it started coming out and she just popped right out with ease.

IF ANYONE IS READING THIS DO WHAT THIS MAN SAID HERE.

Put a flathead in between the trans and the green CV axle cup, tapped with a hammer and boom. Done.
