This post isnt to see what i would run at the track its just to get opinions if i should leave my proven setup for this one or wait until i can push the turbo to its potential..

I have a forced performance big 16g with all supporting mods, stock internals/valvetrane and i currently ran a 13.00 at the track hitting fuel cut untuned..:sneaky:

I just purchased a Turbonetics ball bearing 50trim *Rs49T* with evo III manifold, slowboyracing o2 dump and Tial 40mm wastegate from a friend. Concidering i have stock internals/valvetrain i will only be able to push 20 psi .. Will it be worth it to throw it on or will i see the same results.

I dont know too much about what this turbo can do so any advice and imput on the setup will be appreciated.. thanks!

I picked up 4/10ths and 4mph going from a 16g at 20psi to a 50trim at 20psi.

You will be able to run more than 20lbs on your stock motor and thats where the 50 trim really starts to shine.

How do you have 550's and no fuel control? The 16g is capable of more if you want to keep it. Of course you can't tell anyone what to do but my guess is switching to a larger turbo won't make you much faster for the amount of money you're talking about spending.

OT: Nice times Ty! When did that happen?

If you're not running 113-114 MPH in the 1/4, then you really haven't exploited the power of the 16G in a full weight car. Upgrading and slapping a bigger turbo on is an easy way to gain ET and MPH, but maximizing what you have and tuning it well is more satisfying.

Just my .02.

you can always port the turbo (as well as other stuff).

why would you purchase a turbo and not be completely definite about installing it?

why would you purchase a turbo without being well informed about its background and other people's experience with it?

No fuel control *off topic?*... The reason for fuel cut was no FPR with my 255lph untuned like stated.. Was using as a reference due to the fact that i currently installed a FPR and i was able to tune the car with my wideband. *Knowing its capable of more*

Cost wouldnt be worth it....? Alls i will need is injectors so im unsure what advice your giving..

Im not one to just throw it on because its bigger. Personally i think my 16g will take me where i want to go reliably. I was just trying to gather information on the setup vrs the one i have now. The car is a daily driver and i think the only difference really for me at this point is that it will be better on the highway for daily travel not always being in full spool.

Thanks for all the positive posts.

The turbo can be ported i agree which will deff help top end which i currently lack. Manifold and Ported o2 housing are already ported so the turbo itself is a option!

The Turbo setup was bought for $1200 dollars and only installed on my friends gsx for 5 runs at the track. Turbonetics polished 50trim, evoIII mani,SBR o2 dump, tial 40mm wastegate, Aeromotive FPR arp bolts with all lines fittings for turbo and FRP. I Going to be taking the car off the road to have the motor built making it a weekend driver. Figured for the deal this will be a good setup at 25psi + when its done.

Research was done.. and i wanted to ensure myself that what i have is good enough for what i have now. I know i wont get full potential out of this turbo thats why im going to save it for later when i can fully boost it.

Thats WHY...
