Crushed DSM's

Been a while since I found one. Today there is a 1996 Eclipse RS. It is badly neglected. It's one that I actually understand throwing away. Most of them are too clean but this one is bad. The engine is locked up and body damage is severe. If anyone needs parts I'm up to get them. Not as many good ones here as I've posted before though. This is also the third Barcelona pearl model that I've found at this particular yard. For that to be a rare color, I see as many of them as any other color.

I'm looking for a plug off the wiring harness that I can't order online or find that goes into the transmission as long as the clip that locks it in place is good still. Mine doesn't so it vibrates and I'm 85% sure that's why my car stops shifting after it warms up

This car has the 5 speed NV-T350, so it doesn't have that connector. I can check other auto trans Chryslers and Dodges though to see if anything interchangeable is around. If I find one, I'll send you a message.

Ok I'm also looking for the parts to convert mine into a manual. All I need is the clutch, manual shift cable, clutch pedal, and manual shifter, master and slave cylinder. I believe that's all I need for my manual swap though. Not sure how much it's gonna cost to grt all that though.

Sad photos in here. We have quite a few cars sitting in the weed's. The good shells are in storage unit's ect. We purchased a shell last year a guy cut the front off for his car. Was a 99 gsx that was insanely clean rust wise. We will someday tube the front end on that car likely. Have a close friend who works on the road and when he see's these cars siting in fields he goes up to the house and knocks. Have purchased quite a few this way that have been saved. Have a car here we are working on that showed up as a crappy blue painted 2gb. Turns out it was a 97 talon awd in the beautiful turquoise color originally. Hurt my soul.

Kinda thought based on the title we'd see actual "Crushed" DSMs instead of just junk yard cars not crushed..
Guess I'll supply something...

I have the parts highlighted in bold.

Ooof that one hurt a little.

I have notifications turned on so that whenever pickn pull gets a new dsm it notifies me LOL. But it has been none recently here in Northern California. It’s sad seeing them just sitting. I’m on to restoring my second one from the ground up.

I put one in the yard back in 2009...had no choice. Car was totaled, I was in college, had no money...life goes on.
Making up for it with my 92 Laser AWD now...

Somehow I left this image out. Nearly 4 years ago. I should have pulled more from that car.

I can keep an eye out for you. It will probably be hard to find one that isn't either wrecked in the front or already has Ebay junk on the front end. It's definitely worth getting OEM headlights and restoring them though. I never really found a decent set of aftermarket ones besides Eagle Eyes but they're still questionable. Just don't leak water like the Ebay ones.
Have you been able to come across the clutch /brake pedal assembly for a manual? Doing a swap and its the last pieces I need for it.

I'm sure that I have multiple times, but unfortunately these cars don't sit around forever and usually get crushed in 1-2 months from landing on the yard. It's been a couple months or longer since I got notified of any DSM being on a local yard.

But I did locate multiple 2g DSMs sitting at a business downtown, around 15 miles from where I stay. I need to find out how to contact the business owner and see if he/she can give me any info on them, wants to sell them, or part them out. I'm not too optimistic simply because of my past experiences, trying the same things elsewhere, but maybe he/she will budge. I have saved or parted out a few, but usually I'm told to either f*** off or that they will "someday" rebuild them, meanwhile they sit and rot to this day. Maybe I get lucky though and call haul home a few of them :sneaky:

I say we don't let this one get crushed. I'd hate to see it at the junkyard, which is too close for comfort to it's current location. If you want it, message me. If not, support or follow my purchase of it. It's not getting junked yet, but this is a story I hear too often before seeing them standing on steelies awaiting their fate.

I have some 1g cars here that I would sell but I wouldn't let them go for cheap. All need some work but can be put back on the road. Just an FYI.

Junk yard is the circle of life. Some one quit on a nice car LONG before I came along and found it in a scrap pile. I give the parts a second life and my bank extra debt 😂

Like I’ve literally put a new cylinder head and timing setup on a Gst just to find it in the junk yard a few years later with every single valve cover bolt broken and an eBay turbo hanging off a chrome manifold with oil everywhere. Yeah I got the cylinder head back but it’s clearly never the car’s fault when it’s in the yard here in Texas
