Mine is an unusual case. I have a 96 GSX 5sp, 70,000, modded w/ ACT2600 and no walk. Had a 7 bolt built by Extreme(Sean himself), drove it 700 miles, and it walked....ABOUT .070"!!!! He fixed it(not for free, btw), put in a CM2500 and i have now driven the car almost 1000miles with no signs of walking.

do u really think the CM2500 made that big of a difference? i have a 1g wit a act 2600, and i love it, but i bought a cm2500 for my 2g bc im terrified to walk

ohh and hey u should ask everyone to post their mods too so u can see what kinda of mods people had that walked.

what is a cm2500, a different crank? also how many gsx's walk, liek the numbers of them compared to the number of gst's.

CM 2500 is clutch masters 2500 lbs clutch thats suppost to get the least crankwalk of all the clutches made for dsms, suppost be be similar to act's 2600 but not quit as good but the 2600 is the most likely to walk

seems to me like not to many GST's walk maybe im wrng but thats just what im seein

seems to me like not to many GST's walk maybe im wrong but thats just what im seein gsx's seem to be more likely to walk but makes sense, they have more drivetrain stress

Mine walked at 42k .. mildly modded.

Also had a 98' gsx before this car that was an auto and had never seen any mods, walked at 14k. I just assume the dsm gods hate me :)

'96 AWD, ACT2100, 105k miles. No crankwalk.
Interesting to note the huge majority of people with
no crankwalk in this poll.
Makes a mockery of the "ALL 2Gs will get crankwalk" crowd.

Just because they dont have it yet doesnt mean they wont get it. Nobody is safe from CW.

And why is CW the number one reason 2G owners need to get their motors rebuilt. There is a reason that people put 6 bolts in their 2Gs...

That's exactly why my 2g is getting a 6bolt, I thought about replacing the thrust bearings over and over, but why go through the trouble? Besides, if you can get a 6bolt that's complete with the turbo you will get a performance gain as well... I just can't wait till I'm done rebuilding it...driving my girlfriend's 93 1.8 just isn't the same...

The thing that sucks about having a new motor is that you have to break it in. Ive had my motor rebuilt twice now, and both times I was pissed as hell that I had to drive around on no boost for 5k+.

5000miles?! Why would you need to break in a motor that long? The highest I've ever heard is 1000 mi...I'm going with a 20 minute break in for my motor, everything I've read on the other dsm board supports it, as do a couple other people I've asked.
