Looks like its seeping from the head gasket to me. That sucks, well I guess there are worse reasons to have to change a head gasket. do yourself a favor and have the head cleaned, checked for cracks and the valves checked while its off. its 95% likely it will have to be planed anyway to get it flat again. Also change the valve stem seals while they are in it.

Make sure its in spec when its decked, and have change seals while your there, cam seals, and valve stem seals since the heads off anyway, valves should be ok, if you still have compression.

GST, The red box in your pic is the outside corner, of my green circle in my pic in post #19.

Now look at this head, it was belt surfaced, and I had to mill it to get it back square.

See the green arrow, that is the oil port again, but it was so low from being belt surfaced, that the head gasket could not seal and had an oil leak at this point.

Do you know if your head was surfaced? if so, how was it done?

Since a couple guys above me are recommending a couple things to do while the head is off, Ill chime in here too.

Change your valve springs, the OE ones are proberly weak and worn out.
I Recomend BC1100 springs with stock retainers as an affordable spring replacement.

my car did the exact same thing in the same spot after my rebuild. started it up and it immediately started pouring oil from the same spot. took to the shop that built my motor and they are claiming head gasket failure. I agree with the diagnosis but as others have stated check the specs on the head and block and be sure they were decked correctly so the mating areas are level on the block and head.

I had to get mine redone, it got scratched while it was at the welder, and had it redone, and decked shes all pretty now, should have it assembed next week.

Thanks for all of the imput guys! im pulling her apart sunday and pics will follow. im hoping i see the gasket just mangeld. i was planning on new valve stem seals aswell. again. thank all of you so much, this is making the soon to come project a bit easier!
