So the first time I started my talon tsi it ran, then I checked the oil and it was full of coolant. I do a compression test and the 4 and 3 cylinders have results of 150, while the 2 and 1 cylinders have results of 75. I just took my head off and the gasket definitely doesn't look nice, but I can't seem to notice any cracks or anything. Just wanting to know if it is my head gasket before I tighten the head back on with a new gasket

I
Arp studs can be had for cheap. Less than 100 bucks. Might as well do it now and not worry about it when u increase boost. :D

Sounds like u don't have all the right tools to check for a proper working head. I would hate for u to go through all the work only to find out the head had a small crack.

That low of a compression may mean something. Have a machine shop check your cylinder head.
Don't think there are really any machine shops where I live though LOL. I was thinking that maybe since my head bolts are torque to yield and they're already stretched, the last person that had it could have taken the head off and not known about the bolts? And since they would be stretched when he put them back on it wouldn't be torqued down as tight ? Just something I thought of.

People are cheap yes and not knowledgeable sometimes. It could be quite possible.

If it's a 7 bolt 1 g, what cylinder head are you running on it.

Are you running a 1g coolant water pump pipe?

Everything is slightly different. So is it a 1 g head or a 2g head on a 1g 7 bolt block?
if you give me some specific things I can check for on the head and water pipe that'll tell me wether they're 1g or 2g I can check to see exactly what they are

In the picture of the block you posted I can tell it's a 1g water pump pipe and should be a 1g thermostat housing
Yeah I'm sure they're what came on the engine. Same with the head. But I said before in another thread that one of the first times the car started, it ran for like 7 seconds and died because I didn't give it any gas. The coolant never mixed with the oil that time ?

Copper sealer is an old school method to make sure the head and block seal, the copper spray would fill in any minor to moderate imperfections or scratches. It's not standard practice.

It looks like the 1g uses a different crank angle sensor than a 2g does. You seem pretty confident about the swap, but you should search a little more into it. Cam and crank sensors, tps, iac, different sensors will probably be a little different. Combine that with the fact that early 95 models were wired differently than late 95 and 96 cars and you could have a few reasons why the car isn't running correctly.

Make sure the new gasket is installed correctly, you an install it flipped onto the wrong side and mess it up. Easy to do with the copper spray covering up the writing on the surface of the gasket

No the car runs, but it's just the coolant in the oil I'm wondering about. The old gasket had copper sealant on it does that mean the guy before me changed the head gasket ?

Yeah, if the picture you posted of your block is how it looked right after you pulled the head and the gasket off, and you haven't sanded or scraped the block yet, then the gasket has been changed very recently. The copper and the graphite really stick to the block and you really have to scrape the old head gasket off of the block and head when you remove them.

Make sure the new gasket you're going to use is a composite graphite gasket (fel-pro or oem) and not a multi layer steel gasket

It would suggest that either the head on the car is messed up, or the head bolts were re used and have stretched

the picture I posted was after I cleaned off the block, it had tons of copper seal on it. I'm using an oem gasket. I'm thinking the last person didn't know about the stretched bolts and reused them
