ok, so my car seems to be running rich and i dont know why, seeing as how i believe it is mostly stock. i bought the car with an intake, downpipe, exhaust, bov, and ngk wires. the ngk wires wend bad and the car started running really badly, so i put stock plug wires in and stock plugs and it ran good, until now. i believe my car is running rich, and i can tell cause you can smell it when i get on it, which might be because i have no cat, but i was thinking it might be because of something else, which brings me to my question....

does this picture below look like the stock wiring for the fuel pump? it doesnt look stock to me, seeing as how i dont think mitsu would have random exposed wires chilling there. can someone tell me if it would be worth it to pull this pump cover off and see what kinda pump is in there? how can i tell if it is different than a stock pump? could this be the reason why my car is running so rich and messing up my plugs? thanks.

mine sure doesnt look like that, maybe the previous owner had the fuel pump re-wired or upgrader the pump itself. the only thing i can tell you how to determine if it is uprgaded pump is that if there is a whinning noise from the rear of the car, undr the rear seat and the tank. i have walbro 255lph as my only fuel mods and sure does that whinning noise. but maybe someone here can give you better input. also, try to play with your spark plugs gap, maybe its out of spec. modified cars need to have a slightly lower gap than the stock. i hope this helps... good luck.!

well, i need to put in new plugs so what kind should i get? im running 15 psi on the stock t-25 turbo. anything else i need to know?

yeah thats a stocker FP rewire . If you want you could pop the cover off and should see a relay with like 4 wires running to it. It will help you run15psi on stocker t25. Just dont go more then that or you'll be like i am , car sitting by the curb

that would explain things. seems that the previous owner then decided to put on this wide open exhaust and rewire the fuel pump so that it can run the 15 psi. i still think i need new plugs.
