I searched and read every thread, but I still can't seem to find the answer. I plan on using this pump because I don't want the annoying walbro sound and it outflows it. I have read the tech article on installing a denso, but the supra pump seems bigger. I read people have to tilt it to make it fit, but I have also read others weren't able to connect it because it is too big. Does anyone have pics of their install? Does it matter if the pump is tilted? What about those that werent able to install it?

And finally, I read up on these, has anyone used these? Seems as if price is a lot cheaper new than before:

Denso/Kyosan Universal Racing Fuel Pump Supra Turbo TT:eBay Motors (item 300351193910 end time Dec-24-09 11:14:31 PST)

I read on several forums that this is the real deal.

If it only flows 260lph, that is not a real one. They USED to flow that much for the originals back in 93'. The new replacement units from Denso now flow 280LPH. I'd recommend getting them from here. These are 100% real because it is a know Supra shop. That's where I am going to get mine from.

Supposedly it is the 1020 part number and it says it flow 300lph high pressure, I wanted to purchase one through eBay because of the live discount that is going on right now. Need to save money! :D

And ok I was just making sure nothing happens if it is tilted a bit when installed, will see once I actually get to install it.

The supra pump is a 50mm denso unit so it is actually the same size as a 1g. The 2g uses 38mm body.
I'm sure with a little work you can get it in there. I put an evo8 pump which is same size as 2g in my 1g pretty easily.
Kyosan pumps are modified denso units. I had purchased a 50mm one that supposedly flowed 390lph, but never installed. They are very popular in the Corvette community for forced induction applications and big power.

oh I see, yea that is where I was reading about them in the corvette forums. Guess it is a good deal, will be buying one and trying it out! :thumb:

I forgot about those. A local had a few of those and when I heard the lph it was just crazy.

I just received the Kyosin/Denso Pump, we will see when installed. Just wondering is it ok not to rewire it? It should still flow around 200 or so right? Because at 13 volts it flow around 260-270 from the charts I believe.

I would rewire it, they suck twice the amps when compared to a 255 HP walbro. Flow rates can be found here - RRE Instructions

How did the pump work out? Im thinking of replacing my wally 255 with this one. Other option is to go dual pump with bosch 044 inline.

Using the denso would be a little cheaper and easier since i wont have to deal with 2 pumps. Main pump is already rewired.

It is very quiet and very good, my IDCs are around 50-60% I believe and that is on e85 running 27lbs of boost, it is also not rewired.

I would like to add that it is slanted, and I believe it is leaking due to the brown cap being cracked, what I would like to do is put a fuel hose instead of using o-rings, etc. Has anyone done this? I have seen it done on 1gs, but the 2g awd pump assembly has a thicker hole (can't remember name, where the fuel pump goes) all the way to the top of the pump assembly and the fuel pump size is much smaller, not sure if I should cut it and weld a smaller piece to fit hose on both sides or what, anyone have any input on this as well?

So you couldnt get it to fit very well? Trying to decide if i should go this route or go dual. Ive looked a bit, but anymore good info on this pump in dsm's anywhere?

Yea the fit isn't too well, I am like perfectionist and I didn't like it like that, I have a feeling it is leaking, but there is a way to not use the o-rings/cap, by adding a fuel line/hose like this:

But for some reason my fuel pump assembly is thicker/bigger, you can see here mine:

Not sure how I would add the fuel hose yet...Anyone ever done this? especially how mine is?

I'm really wondering if you guys are doing something wrong...

I have a Denso Supra 280 lph pump in my 2G and it fit like a glove. It was the larger body pump (much larger than the Wally 255 that it replaced).

Wow that looks nice, yea it is the white connector that gets in the way causing it to go in slanted. A closer pic would be nice, if you had one like my second pic. I'm thinking maybe the 99s were modified a bit then the 95-98 fuel pump assemblies?

Also I see you didn't use that bottom piece that holds the pump together, does that clamp really fit tightly so it won't slip? You happen to know the size of the clamp? I need one as well as that seems a much better idea than using the bottom support.

My tank is from a '95 GSX, so it's definitely not a '99 thing.

Yeah, the bottom piece doesn't fit with the Supra pump, but I knew that going into it. I did tighten the clamp pretty tight, just because I didn't want it moving around at all. Afterall, too tight is better than too loose. :) But the screw behind the pump keeps the worm clamp from moving down, so everything stays in place very well. I don't know what size hose clamp it is; I just grabbed one out of the drawer.

Oh ok, so you mean the fuel pump assembly is from a 95? It works fine on a 99? I'm assuming the wiring is the same from 95 to 99? But there is more of a space or something for fuel pump to go in no problems? Because I know on mine the white connector was hitting the pump that it would go in slanted, so if the 95 fuel pump assemblies have more room, then I might just buy one of those.

No, mine is a '95 because I used the components of a '95 GSX to convert my '99 GST to AWD. It's no different than the rest of the years though. Now that I think about it, my fuel pump hanger is out of an entirely different year 2G as well. Bought if off the Link forums, so I have no clue what year it was from.

I just checked my PC and I don't have any pictures of the other side of my assembly. But I'll try to remember to take a picture of it next time it comes out.

I know that the plug on mine doesn't interfere with the pump, but I'm also not using half of the plug either. So I dunno...

If it is not in the car yet, do you see a part number for the fuel pump hanger?
