Well, after many hours of prep work I finally finished painting the interior. From the outset I didn't have any experience doing body work, there was a learning curve to this whole project and I came away with a much better understanding of what goes into body work. I wish I could stress the amount of hours I spent prepping, scrapping, grinding on the inside, also removing every plug, screw, nut, bolt, and everything else to make the interior completely stripped...laying the paint is the easy part! There is a reason a quality paint job costs a lot of money! Overall, I'm extremely pleased with how this turned out considering that it was my very first time doing anything like this! I will have to repaint my doors, I wasn't happy how they turned out, but that shouldn't be too difficult. Even though all of my friends and even the paint shop suggested against a higher gloss finish, a part of me wishes I would have got that. Bling bling.
But in all seriousness, I'm happy, the car will some day be beat at the track. *fingers-crossed*
Well, I suppose this marks the half-way mark for my interior build. There is still a lot of work to do. I need to reassemble what I took apart. I now see a light at the end of the tunnel. With the paint down, I really have to emphasize how enjoyable it is to work on my car on the inside because everything is so clean. It feels like a brand new car... almost. Wait until my engine bay receives the same treatment with the experience I gained from the interior!
Enjoy!
