I checked the archives and the results are inconclusive - so being pretty specific here:
I have a FWD car and am looking for a rear sway bar. ST suspensions no longer makes the 1G FWD-specific rear sway bar (part no 51185). I'm curious if the AWD version would work (part number 51190).
I reached out to the folks at ST, and they weren't very helpful.
Wondering if the only difference between the two is that the AWD version has a curve in it to clear the differential in an AWD car.... in which case would work fine in a FWD application (although you couldn't do it the other way around).
Anyone have definitive knowledge of this? Are the endlink-to-endlink measurements the same?
Alternately, if someone has a good pic of a AWD (51190) version I could overlay it on a pic I have of the 51185 and get some sense of it. The pics online for the AWD version seem to show a half-dozen different designs for the same part number.
Thanks,
Pete
