i just read all 6 pages and now i feel dumber then i did before

so COP = wast of time and money right?

i never had any problem with my coil set up and im maken good power why would i fix something thats not broke ?

AEM recently did a test on the stock coils. They deliver full power up to 7300 RPM and after that drop off very slowly. They were very impressed. I was going to stick COP on my car, but I am not impressed with the quality of the 300M coils. I may still try it later on for shits and giggles though.

there is a company called ignition solutions by my house that has a mustang cobra 2003 coil on plug ignition system for 300 bux. thats 8 cops for 300 bills. me and my buddy were thinking about buying it and splitting the cop's between our 2 four cylinder cars. anyone know how hard the wiring job for the cop's is going to be ? i have the aem ems to control them.

Okay I have seen several motor pics and to mee it looks like they have a coil on plug type ignition system?? Is that what it is or what am I seeing.. "JDMAWD" looks like one of those systems I think.

thats a pic of the kit we sell. 4 chanel aem cdi, custom wiring harness, 4 coils and new spark plugs. if necessacary we will also modify your calibration to work w/the coils and provide instructions on wiring it to the ems. the only wires you have to worry about are the power, ground, switched power and the 4 trigger wires that wire to the ems. everything else is done and we provide plugs for the wires you have to connect to for ease of installation

THats for DSM, not sure what it uses, I think I read somwhere it was from a motorcycle of some type.

Almost zero chance of blow out at high flow and boost levels. Better Overall idle and drive quality. Makes the engine bay look pimp.

Not very much on a DSM, until the ~400hp range. The standard ignition system is _very_ good.

From the factory -such as the 300M- it means they don't have to buy plug wires. Probably saves them a buck-quarter per car.

I don't see whats hard about installing these?? The 300m coils I had didn't work, had to use coils from an intrepid 2.7. I didn't play around with the 300m coils to try to get them to work, I had both sets so I juist went with what worked first.

You need 4 coils, 4 connectors, something to mount them to, and wires. I use a plug from our stock coil so I can plug it in and not cut anything.

Theres 2 wires that go to the coil. One is basically a ground which will be joined together with the other coils at the main plug. The other will be joined with the other coil that fires at the same time then go to 1 of the trigger wires. The other 2 coils triggers will go to the other trigger wire.

Basically look at your stock coils wiring harness and pretend 2 of your coils are one, and go from there.

I am impressed with the coils and don't care to switch back any time soon. It was free for me though.

I hear buschur makes a bolt on COP setup. I also heard it works really well. Is there a logical reason to not just buy the buschur setup spend the 2 minutes to install it and be done?

Good luck.

i still wish i could share my Spark shot at night picture..... i know my 97EclipseGSX can vouch for me as to how far the spark was jumping :thumb:

So far these coils have been on 2 diffrent cars my 1995 AWD Tsi with MSD-2 and another poster on here (97Eclipsegsx)

anyways, i have yet to see a problem running these and i know he hasnt either.

one more thing.... if you gonna ask what the white/silver stuff on the passenger side coils are.... it's from the heat thing on the hood, the 2.4L makes them rub a little

Damn Pat didnt think anyone had that picture anymore :)

thank you Samsung V1000 with multi picture function :)

that is my car btw:thumb: :talon:

the newer ones

I had a couple nissan coils but threw them away, didn't like them.

I also have some off of a duratec v6 they are using them on the new mustangs and stuff too. They only have 1 bolt hole so not sure if I will ever try to use them.
