NOLOGY capacitor plug wires. [Merged 6-7] Powercore

I spent $50 on Magnecors and I also put Denso plugs in. As long as everything is gaped correctly, I had a nice idle and smooth acceleration. I have heard good things about Nology as well but $150 is a lot for spark plug wires

MSD wires & NGK plugs have got my vote. I used to be interested in Nology's but heard some negatives about them causing electronic interference. Never heard any negatives about NGK's or MSD though... Plus the Nology's are more than twice as much - and for what? A rumored couple extra ponies? Put that extra money elsewhere.

oddly enough i put some nology wires on a subaru that i was using for a winter car last year and what a difference it made drove soo much smoother and acceleration was a lot better. but i've heard great things about msd and i have apc 9.5mm on mine and they are great but i think by spring time i'll change to nology.

are the nology spark plugs worth the money? also i seen a nology spark booster, thats supposed to enhance your spark. i dont have my turbo setup yet, so would there be any reason (would it help) to use these with these mods: full exhaust (header, straight pipe, cat back) V2 intake, bored out throttle body. i have other mods, but none that effect the air flow. also i already have a screamin demon coil so i have better spark already. so would i be wasting time and money?

Plugs and or wires for that matter aren't an amazing upgrade, but they are a plus to any setup. and once u start getting more done to the engine u would need them anyways. And if you are running more spark and still plan to run more in the future (you should really go with MSD) i would sugest getting plugs. Yes there would be reason to upgrade. More spark equals better burn equals more power. But if your doin for alote of hp your barken up the wrong tree with a full ignition system u may and i say may get 3-6 WHP. The reason for this would be that more spark will make them work alote more so a newwer pair would be intelligant so they don't break down, and buy like u said nology is even more intelligent because they have more quality. From my personal preffrence i would go with NKG. there tight, and have nice wires as well. I have a set of fairly new NKG iridium plugs if you were interested. I loved them, they gave me a much more even burn, I had to get new ones because i later went the nitruse route. PM me if u would be interested, they would be alote cheaper then i bought them for.

i did alot of reseach on nology wires, from what ive read and heard from other people who used then is that they are awsome!! i spent 200 bucks on nology wires, this was while my friend was painting my car so i had them sent to him so he could put them on whle he had the car there  bad idea, pretty much he was a moron, they sent me the wrong wires, he tryed to put 4g63 wires on my car messed them up so i couldent send them back, so i took a huge loss on them, myself i think they are worth it, but im not about to spend 200 more bucks to get some more after i took a loss :barf:
pretty much it all depends if u want to spend that much money on wires, when u can buy some 8.5 msd wirs, that will work pretty much the same :thumb:

Wires, as long as they are functioning properly, will have zero effect.
If you go to Magnecor's web site http://www.magnecor.com/ , you can read up on things and have a better handle on what's going on.
In short, unless your wires are burnt and arching, a new wire set will have zero effect on performance, no matter who makes it. Nology has been proven as a snake oil product years ago and you can search here, other DSM sites or on Google for ample evidence.
Save your money.

I'd go with one range hotter NGKs and Crane Firewire 8.5mm wires. I ran this setup with my Screamin Demon coil before I started spraying and I liked it. Now i'm running colder plugs with a 75shot. =)

i already have msd wires. i'm not looking at the nology hot wires. i was curious about their spark plugs. would it be worth it right now with the mods i have? i'm not looking to get a huge gain i just want as much spark and burn that i can get / need. once i get my full setup i will be switching to a full msd setup. i just want to know if the nology plugs, mds wires, screaming deamon coil, and the nology spark booster would be too much for now, and simply a waste of money.

I use Nology spark plugs but to be honest, I don't notice any difference. To me, as long as it gets a good spark, a plugs a plug. I use the 8.5mm MSD wires with em too. I thought I had a problem with the plugs this past month cause I was misfiring. I called Summit where I ordered them from and they sent me replacements. When I was looking under the hood I noticed I had a broken hose which was causing my misfire, so now I got extra spark plugs.

Spark has less to do with power than it does with throttle response. More spark will result in better throttle response, fuel economy, and idle quality. Not power.
On that note, your ignition system is only as good as its weakest link, and plugs and wires, unless they're fried or arching, like someone mentioned before, will not be your weakest link. If you want more spark, the best way to go would be an aftermarket ignition unit like an MSD.

you guys are throwing cash away on a bunch of ignition crap that isn't doing a thing for you. the oem ignition on a dsm is pretty damn good and the n/t cars have no requirement for anything beyond that.
benchmark some hot dsm's and you'll see.

Hey guys,

My friend has some "Nology Spark Plug Wires" with individual grounding wires.... They are a lot thicker than my magnacore ones that I have right now, and just wanted to know if anyone has ever used them and if you are satisfied with them...

Thanks,

_-Az-_

dont they claim to add 20hp? if so i have heard people swear up and down that they feel a difference i dunno i like my mags just fine

Where do you buy Magnacore wires? No shops around here seem to carry them and online everyone seems to be out.

Well the magnacore wires were on the car when I bought them, but as far as the Nology wires go, i can get em for $50, or trade the guy an amp or something for it... The guy is pretty dumb, i see him here and there nothing big, but he just wanted to know if I wanted them since he has no use for them :)

I guess its a good deal :)

i have been running nology plugs and wires for awhile now and within the next few months i will be getting nx or nos system, does anyone know which nology plugs will be 2 stages colder or will it hurt that much if i stay with the normal nology plugs?i have called a few companys and no one has a clue, anyone help would be appreciated thanks guys, mike

Just get NGK plugs and wires..
That nology stuff is crap.
I have personaly seen a car lose 8hp by just putting a set of those wires on their car at a dyno.
