Clutch Switch

Where exactly is the clutch switch. id like to disengage the switch so i can start my eclipse without using the clutch, but i have no idea where to even start to find it besides the pedal assembly. can i get help?

follow the cluth pedal up and under the dash there is a bracket that holds the switch and you know the rest

I like this "mod." I do it with every car i have. But seriously, slide the seat back, climb under the dash and look. You will see two switches, one that opens just as the clutch pedal starts to be pushed and one that is closer to the firewall that opens only when the clutch is pushed all the way to the floor. You want the latter. It has a black and blue wire going from it and runs to a small connector where the collors change.. Tyler.

Ahhhhh man... i unpluged the wrong switch , i actually unpluged the one that has the pushrod on the actual clutch pedal asembly.. i was wondering why i still had to use my clutch.. i was mad as heck.. thank you for posting the video. deffinetly cleard things up.

This is a good mod as it is bad for your throw out bearing to push the clutch pedal that far everytime you start it. Also the upgrade paths in this site has info about it.

Its not a bad mod if you remember not to start the car in gear. i have never had a auto trans car and the car i had for ever didn't have a parking brake. so i always had to leave the car in gear. kinda got used to that. when my galant wouldn't start due to the rubber stopper that hits the clutch switch i had to disconnected. well i don't drive the galant enough to remember and sometimes i start he car in gear and it jumps. or maybe i'm just a dumb ass b/c i can't seem to remember???
