I'm to the point of dropping my engine in the car when I decided to check my clutch pedal assembly for play. I thought it would be a good idea and bit easier if I did it before I got the engine/tranny in. Plus the body had 207,000 miles on it so it was probably bad. I tested it by pulling up and it had quite a bit of play. So I got it out last night and when checking it over, it looks fine. It passes visual inspection and there is zero play when I press the clutch pedal while its out. I'm now confused.

What could I check on it to verify that it does or does not need rebuilt? I just need to know if I need to send it off to Shep or not.

Thanks guys!

Just make sure that the shaft inside has no side to side play and that the arm on the end doesn't wiggle around.

Thanks Bryan. I'll check that out. I'll be a little irritated that I did all that and its fine LOL Oh well. It's been a learning experience.
