does the clutch cylinder have to be full to top because 2 months ago i had gotten a new clutch and when i check the fluid in it it was barely nothing in car and car was turned off should i throw fluid in there

Your fluid should be filled to the full line. If your going through clutch fluid you might want to check for leaks also.

Did you fill the reservoir after bleeding the clutch? If not that would explain where all your fluid went. Or you might have a leak some where.

i just bought car off friend he paid 1200 to get a clutch put in about 2months ago and when i was checking fluids it was bone dry and im use to having automatics but i fulled it with brake fluid dot 3 ima wait and see if it leaks

Sounds like a plan. I bet they forgot to refill it after bleeding, shops are getting pretty careless I've noticed lately...
