i have a 1999 gst

my boost gauge in the cluster stoped working and now i have leak because it wont whistile as loud as it did. its all factory setup only thing i have done is no filter full exsaust and a boost oil pressure and water temp piller

No filter? You're running it without the air filter? WTF

If you suspect a boost leak, your best bet is to do a leak test. Once any leaks are fixed, I would then focus on the gauge (if the leak repairs don't get it working again).



I had a few gauges stop working after I'd been messing around in the instrument panel. To fix them, I took the cover off the cluster and made sure all connections were secure. Also checked that nothing was impeding the needles' movement.

In my case, there were 2 problems:

-Aftermarket faces were raised and touching the needles. I secured them with double-sided tape.

-Pressing the face of the stock boost gauge got it working again. Something loose behind it?


If none of that works for you, your problem could be with wiring.

well im waiting for me paychek to get the adapter unless some one has 1 laying around
it might of gust poped off i wanted to get rid of the factory boost gauge/oil pressure for obvius reasons (wanted to put a volt meter in its place. also anyone know the factory hp /tq????

Not having a filter is risking a lot worse than just a boost leak or non functioning gauge. Seriously, those things are there for a reason. First off, put your air filter back in. Next, do a boost leak test (BLT). Does your car still run okay? It's possible your turbo isn't functioning properly. You can take your intake off and check the turbo for shaft play and make sure it spins freely. It may be time for a 16g.

i gust need the cone adapter n thats on wensday i have the box fliped so the top half is the bottom so i can lay the factory filter there its a temp mod. is it possible to oil the turbo to help it spin?
lets keep on subject here my boost/oil cluster is malfunctioning is it posible to run that factory boost line to a aftermarket boost gauge? and is that a good spot to run the line

Your stock "boost guage" is electrical and isn't the actual boost you are running.

Sure, throw some oil on the turbine fins. Then it will spin much faster. WTF

SCREW THE STOCK BOOST GAUGE. It is absolutely worthless. You have an aftermarket boost gauge, why do you care?

LIKE i said in my first post im not that good of a speller
i care because when it stoped working my car started acting up it wont push outt the force it did but it pushes the same boost

say a 0-3 boost i have a whistle fron the turbo well now its at 10-11 that it whistles ( i have my boost gauge hooked up to the line on the upper right on the intake manifold its right above the distributer on the right it pushes 15 pnds do that sound right??) the old owner fuged this car up ! ALOT !! 2900 down the drain

i fixed my issues and its a wire that runs into the intake sensor the retard who had the car befor me had all the wires crimpd together and yes i hav a 4inch specter cone mod now so calm down
