This guy sells struts on ebay. Contact him for specific 2g hatch struts.
For my 95 tsi awd, i got a pair for $59 plus s&h. compared to kragen or other businesses selling for about $60+ for EACH hatch strut.

part number that i ordered ( 95 tsi awd ): 4952L/4952R

there is a guy on ebay (thelittleguyent) who sells hatch struts cheap and has free shipping sometimes in his ebay store. i just bought some for my 1g and it only cost me $44.95 for a PAIR but i havnt received them yet to attest to the quality of them. according to his add though, they are supposed to be high quality (These are made by a German company SACHS, an OEM supplier to BMW, Mercedes Benz and Porsche. You know you can't go wrong with the quality of these hood shocks. Why settle for less? After all, they pioneered the HOOD / TRUNK SHOCKS TECHNOLOGY.)

anyway hope this helps

JC Whitney- $24.99 each and only for 1G

Kragen shows Arvins at $53.99 each for 2G, and different part numbers from left to right.
The also have Strong Arms at $56.99 each, also different L to R.

I just got mine for like, 50 bucks from a local AutoZone... Why are they so exspensive everywhere else?

I got mine for $30/pair from the local autozone hookup. Beats a vicegrip!

AGAIN- the stock oem pieces can be order from any dealer for a list price of $27.70 each. Part numbers MR100467/MR100468.

Why pay more?

is that part numbers are for the 1g or 2g eclipse? i can find one for 20.67 bucks online.

Hi, i'd just like to share this to the community. if you are a cheapo such as myself, or 2g rear hatch struts are hard to come by, you could use your tonneau cover as a stand instead. it looks oem and it is free. just remember to gently lay down the hatch onto the tonneau cover so as not to break the cover. you have to tilt the cover to a 90 degree angle. i hope the picture pushes through

Yeah, my PO did that, and now mine's broken.

Please guys, don't do this. Just buy some new struts! :nono:

Can ours not get re gas'd or oil?? What ever is inside them, i just ended up buying new from jnztuning. I mean mine went out 2 years ago so if they lasted 14 years on 1 set then the oem ones must be good for the price! Just saying cheap is not always the cheapest in the long run
