Hello guys i am new to the mitsubishi comunity and have a couple question what i should do to my build regarding my cylinder heads. I have a 1997 mitsubishi eclipse with the 420a engine and need to change the cylinder heads. My question is if it takes a lot of experience to pull of that type of jobs biggest concern making sure everything goes into place.

It's next to impossible to answer this without knowing your skill level. If you've never worked on an engine then yes this is probably more than you could do successfully. There are some things an experienced person would know. I considered myself having a decent mechanical aptitude when I first started working on cars but it was quite awhile before I attempted bigger jobs. The issue is the mistakes made get way more costly on a bigger job and in some instances dangerous. First time a guy does brakes and doesn't know what they're doing for instance. I was that guy and didn't realize you have to pump them up (get pistons back in place) after you first install. I didn't and had no brakes until a few pedal pushes. Damn near crashed. So tell us what is your skill level? What kind of jobs have you done? We can help with some specific gotchas otherwise most of the job is RandR. You will need to know how to do a timing belt correctly

The most that i have done on the vehicle would be Tearing it apart until its just the heads, replacing exhaust manifold, installing a front pipe, oil change
