Hey guys, my dsm hasn't been running for about a year now. After all is said and done, the car was torn apart for a clutch swap at the end of last summer and now I finally have come back from college to put the new clutch in ( CFDF clutch w/ PP) and get the tranny back in. I ended up replacing the alternator with the saturn clutch swap, doing the skateboard shifter cable mod, and almost replacing the stock fuel pump with a wally 255 only to put the stock one back in to not overrun my crappy ebay afpr on the 1200 mile drive down to my new home in florida. My problem is, 1, the car won't start! I changed the oil and am looking at the fouled plugs which i'll be replacing tomorrow. I don't know why it won't turn over, fuel/spark or could sitting for a year have caused it to seize or something? I smell gas under the hood and the motor turns over but won't fire so no spark maybe? Could the pistons/rings/ whatever have seized or something? I'm VERY stressed as my only way back to florida is driving and I'm supposed to be there in 4 days. Also, the transmission is VERY tough to shift. I bled the clutch properly but shifting is very hard, could the tranny gears/synchros have rusted since it had no oil for a year and have caused this? Or maybe the skateboard bearing mod was done improperly (aka i put the bearings in at an angle and not straight in which actually might have caused this? I could use all the help I can get and appreciate your help in advance!
EDIT: the fuel line to the filter had been disconnected to put in the wally and when i put the stocker back in, I didn't connect the line underneath the car so the car wasn't getting fuel. I connected the line and the DSM starts!
The transmission is still of concern to me as i haven't been able to get the car of jack stands because i'm troubleshooting my alternator belt/pulley/mounting because when I start the car it squeals and squeals not like it did before, but way worse (the belt smokes too). Also, the car seems to be heating up a lot! I mean I know it's hot out but I mean it heats up QUICK and I'm getting a small leak from the timing cover so i don't know if maybe the water pump is the issue which is causing the car to overheat and squeal? I know it might be the water inlet pipe o ring which could cause the small leak, what's the procedure to check that?
