Car won't start!

So this 98 gsx is having a hard time starting. It's got ~ 1yr old readtop @12.7 V. The alternator must be working because the battery is charging. When you turn the key the starter doesn't even click sometimes when it does decided to start it acts like its really labored like a dead battery. Looked at all the fuses they appear to be fine. Does our cars have a starter relay and Is it the one labeled engine? The neg cable is pretty corroded but when I tested the continuity it read 1 ohm. The ground needs replaced but I don't think it is the cause. We tried starting the car with the voltmeter on the battery and it did nothing not a click or even a draw on the battery.

Starter relay? Dont know about 2gs mines doesnt, first do you have spark, fuel, and compression.

I would check all the grounds and take the starter to get tested, it could be the internals of the starter going out, starters can go out more than one way take it to get it tested.

What does fuel and spark mater when u can't even turn over the engine? That doesn't help troubleshooting a starter that won't turn over.

Do you have spark, have you tested the starter, i dont know the history of your car but those are the basics of not starting, so lets work on that starter. Now i would fix that bad ground, since you know its bad. You never know with these things ive read threads here where something is changed on the car and all of a sudden something doesnt idle, or start. When did this problem start?

It started yesterday nothing changed recently other than changed the injector seals. Taking a spare starter to get it tested today and going to replace the ground.

Replaced the starter and ground started right up.
