car wont go into overdrive

I have a 97talon 420a auto and who ever owned the car before me put a aftermarket shifter on it and it came loose and 3 wires were exposed. I took the shifter off and it thru sparks cause. They didnt tape the wires and now my car wont go into overdrive. I didnt know if there was a fuse that blown or what caus. The car doesn't. Have the fuse cover for the kick. Please help me out im burning. Alot of gas

Are you throwing a code at all? Something similar happened to me in another car and it ended up being my MAF sensor blew up on me.

Pull the TCU and check out the board.
