2G car sputters and has no acceleration

i have a 97 eclipse gst and it has a sputter around 2500 rpm and it seems like it wont build up boost like sometimes it will only get up to about 3500rpm and it takes awhile to get going even if i push the pedal to the ground and will not go over 45/50 even if i push the clutch in it takes a minute to get passed 3500rpm and then when u release the clutch it drops down to 2000 it has new maf sensor and it seems to be getting horrible gas mileage and running rich i have no clue what this could be :banghead: all help would be great :pray:

To be honest I wouldn't have started it. 4-4 1/2 should put you at full. You have somthing leaking out your oil. Look for leaks and don't start it any more. Where was your oil level before and after you started it?

If you put 7 quarts in it and you didn't see any on the stick than you need glasses. That is nearly twice the oil that it needs. If there were a leak causing that than you would have 5+ quarts sitting on the ground below it.

As far as the original subject, have you boost leak tested the car yet? There is a lot of assumption in this thread when a simple boost leak test should be done before anything.
 
bryanwheat i can see oil but its not full its about half way between low and full as for the boos leak test i have not had time yet but plan on it by next weekend could someone post a pic of a stock 4g63t for me to compare mine to?

Boost leak. Make a tester and test it from the turbo
 
Also i Have Blown Like 6 StarterS ...I Am Missing Like 3 Bolts That Hold The Transmission To The Block Does That AffeCt The Starting Process?.. Is There A Website Where I Can Get The Hardware I Need?

Is your car a manual? Do you have a boost gauge, wideband? My car is also losing power exactly around 2500 rpm. You need to do a boost leak test first to find out if your blow off valve is leaking while driving. Mostly 2500 is when the car starts to see pressure causing a leaking blow off valve. Pending on turbo.
Another thing you need to check is when your car is at idle where is your vacuum, 14 hg/ 17 hg?
Another thing to look for is a slipping clutch. I had my clutch slip before and the symptom you describe is similar except the sputter.
Lastly it would help if you have a logger. My car lags sometimes around 2500, causing tremendous knock (@20+ counts) pulling timing.
Make sure your spark plugs and wires are tight. Lose connection will cause sputter also and a rougher idle.

I doubt its the turbo. My turbo was brand new and I still had the same problem.
 
I Going To Perform A Boost Leak Test This Weekend ...And See If There Is Any Leaks...### I It Mostly Spuuders When I Floor It ....I Bought The Car With Bad Clutch I Had It Brought To My House And When I Starterd Doing The Clutch It Was Only Hanging By Like Two Bolts ..It Was Even Missing The Bracket ThaT Goes Before TheTransmission Mount...... My Car Is SticK Shift
 
Ok my cars oil smells oil and I think its injectors but also my oem airbox connects to my maf but the other side is just a whole what should be there?
 
Hold on...this guy just put 7 QT of oil in his car and people are still telling him to do a boost leak test?

Drain your oil, and refill with 4 QT. Start the car, and let it run. After a few minutes, shut it off and check oil level. Refill to desired level.
