Any idea what would cause my car to shutter and struggle to make power at 5+ psi? Boost leak maybe? If so how do I go about trouble shooting and fixing this?

If your BLT doesn't find any leaks you could check your ignition system.

My GSX misfired BAD when I got into boost but was decent otherwise, I changed my plugs and wires and was good to go.

I would recommend NGK BPR6ES spark plugs and Accel 8mm wires. However your profile is not filled out.. if you are running more boost than stock or are decently modded I would get BPR7ES.

But do a BLT first. It's a potentially free fix.

With these motors you always should do boost leaks first when having drivability problems. If you dont have any leaks check the spark plugs and the ignition system. The 4g63 is very pron to miss firing. 9 times out of 10 the issue is that you are getting misfire. Where i work we only use stock plugs and ignition unless we switch to a sparktech cop setup.

I had a bad mas, and it was acting up like that. I would do a blt first though. These cars have a mind of their own haha.

Spark plug gap

this is why i was asking.... I don't know a ton about these cars but have done turbo stuff along with a lot of other stuff and am a technician.......

sometimes it is hard to figure out what people are asking LOL

Car runs fine until it gets to 5/6 psi. It's running at stock boost 11/12 psi. I replaced the stock bov with a 1g bov about 6 months ago.

you'll be amazed how such a small thing can make a difference even at low boost levels. OP check the plug gaps. a WHILE ago i had some NA plugs in my car(i didn't know better haha) gapped to .040 i think and i closed the gap to .028-.030 and the car ran great after. i have the right plugs now though:)

Well have you figured it out changed plugs on my lunch i can boost to 9lbs before it shutters now. So it helped but not completly fixed. Im wonder could be water in gas because its sat a week so im going to fill up tonight to.
