I was stopped at a light with the clutch in and the transmission in first gear. I revved up to 6,500 RPM and the car pulled like I was letting the clutch out just a little. Luckily I had the parking brake on. What does this mean? Tranny was rebuilt within the past year. Only mod I have is a boost gauge. 138k miles. Don't tell me crankwalk because I know that seems to be the answers to most questions like this.

It means that your engagement is too low to the floor and needs to be adjusted up in terms of travel and release, or that your clutch is starting to go and needs to be replaced. If it's not slipping in higher gears then it's likely an adjustment issue. You may also want to check the master and slave cylinders while you're down there for leakage.

Crankwalk is the last thing I usually think of.

Hope that helps,

Andy

That helps a lot and seems very reasonable since the tranny/clutch is relatively new and doesn't slip.

So it's nothing to worry about for daily driving I would assume if there's no fluid problems.

I had the same issue when I had a new clutch put in prior to me buying my car. The release was very low and if I revved it in gear with the clutch in, it would creep. This is definitely something I would fix. Adjustment is rather easy and you can find an article on this on the RRE site:

http://www.roadraceengineering.com/clutchandflywheeltech.htm

It should be under the tech articles. Generally, when adjusting clutch travel, you only want to adjust it a turn or two since a small adjustment will make a big difference. My guess is you're releasing very close off the floor and that moving the engagement point up (turn the rod clockwise when facing the pedals) will get you squared away.

Drop me a line if you have more questions,

he hit it right on the head
i too had this prob in a non dsm and its the clutch is just not disengaging fully

ummmm idk if you guys are thinking of somthing here.... my story goes like this. mine was all fine and dandy has been for a while then my from motor mount tore up and my motor moved all over. whenever i revved it close to redline for the heck of it it would pull like i was going forward EVEN while in neutral and the clutch depressed and whatnot. i switched out the mount and all is well again. so before going around messing with your clutch/tranny please put it in neutral let the clutch out and rev it may still pull forward then check all your mounts  btw mine wasent the feeling of the clutch engauging you could tell it only happened at very high rpms and it just felt wierd dont know how to explain it but it also happened to my moms auto tranny so that tells you somthing right there and her front mount also was screwed LOL. take it for what u will -Ryan
