First about my car:
1997 Eclipse GS (NON TURBO)
Tsudo Cat back exhaust
Short Ram intake

OK, today on my way to college i was getting on the highway. i was traveling at about 40mph in 3rd and dropped into second to get on and get around a cement truck that was ticking me off. As i dropped into second and floored the gas pedal the car took off (well as much as it can for a n/t) and it started climbing the RPMs. when it hit 7,000rpms i shifted. but right before i shifted the CEL came on. this has happened before but this is the first time i have actually witnessed the light come on. It will stay on for a few days then it will shut off. do you guys have any ideas as to what the issue might be? i appreciate any help.

Fellow dsmer,
Matt

Without getting the code read its hard to tell. Let me ask this, original cat on there? And maybe you should note the time that light flips on. Is it cooler outside when its off? Is it warmer outside when it comes on?

Also do you really need to rev to 7k in a n/t in daily traffic?
