Car is breaking up bad at 4,500 rpms

At different loads not just wot. It won't go past where it broke up on the log.

Well you need to still fix your voltage issue, but in the mean time pull your valve cover and make sure you did not spit any rockers off, ive had that happen and the car broke up at the same RPM from 30%-WOT.

Could it be my maf?

Pulled the cover rockers are all good. I only have 2 thing left I'm gonna try. A different maf and check my coil pack.

Ehhhh.... why not figure out what's wrong with your electrical system and causing your voltage to drop?

Cause I'm at a loss with it I checked everything I could think of with no help from changing shitty wires to new battery and alt. I'm gonna bring the car in to asap. That's sometimes the easiest and best way to fix things. I'm in a little over my head on this one.

Well since he hasn't updated here, I'll go ahead and do so, and I wish he would've told me it wasn't working before because I would have known that was it. (had that happen before)

His speed sensor stopped working, so the ECU thought the car was stopped and was using the launch limiter the whole time which was set around 4500 RPM. So yeah, something so simple was causing this headache LOL.

yup. Shane took a look at the log and figured it out in two seconds haha. We still need to figure out the low voltage issue.

I totally overlooked that in the log, just went by right in front of me, if it was a dog I would have been screwed! :(

Anyhow, yeah the low voltage issue is his biggest concern right now, I just wish that car didn't have that ghetto alternator job man, not saying that's the problem, but what else can it be?

Maybe car is missing a ground(s)? I think imporper grounding can cause issues like that.

Improper grounds are a major problem in almost all electrical issues. Try adding another ground from the frame to the engine and check/clean the batt to starter ground. Also, check the ground from the batt to the frame. Another thing to check/replace is the main 80 amp fuse for breakage and corrosion, and if I'm not mistaken, the coil is grounded to the engine by its support bracket. That's all I can think at the moment.

Ya the main ground off the battery wasn't even grounded to the frame rail. I fixed that but it didn't help. The ghetto alternator job is the previous owners fault LOL. Im sure it will get figured out one way or another.

If it was my car, I would try to find a way to wire it up like stock again, something just doesn't seem right about that rig. I know it's not Alan's fault, but it bothers me! LOL LOL

I told him that but then looked at the wiring situation. The stock stuff was all cut up so I didn't even mess with it.

I just don't know if the way it's done is correct. Might be enough to have the car run, but might not be the best way.
