Hey guys,
So a couple of days ago my car just lost low end power, its sucking down fuel too. It seems to be fine when in boost so i dont think it would be a boost leak, I'll be checking in a few days anyway though. I know my tb shaft seals are gone, havent had time change them. Im not throwing any codes. It idles ok, just no power. I did just check voltage and the alt is only putting out 14.1, could this be a problem?? Any ideas???

Thanks

14.1V is good output I think.
Could be an O2 sensor if you only have issues in closed loop.
Also check plugs, wires...basic stuff.

Check for any breaks in the fuel line, fuel filter, or fuel pump.. I bet its a fuel issue. I had a very similar problem and it was a hole in my fuel line (Hook up a fuel pressure gauge to your fuel rail and check the pressure.)

That wouldn't explain why I'm going through so much fuel though. I just sucked down a 1/4 tank in 40 miles.

Well, if you had a small hole in your fuel line then you would just be shootin out fuel under pressure, (not making it to the engine) and it would be starving for fuel under acceleration (Overworking the fuel pump).. Just a thought. It's a simple test to hook up a fuel pressure gauge, and a good mod for down the road.

Yeah, right. Cause the pump is in the tank. Once in a while I have a brain fart and forget what I'm working on. Still use to my old Chevy's.

Wow! Worst then me. I'm getting 50-54 miles a gallon. My last fill up only got me 264 miles. I am damn piss. Maybe we can help each other out. Here's my post LOL

Are you're symptoms like mine?

That sounds like it. I used to shift at 2500-3000 getting up to speed and now i have to shift at 4000 and im not getting up to speed anywhere near as fast as i used to. Going up hills sucks to.

I unplugged the maf and it ran like shit till i plugged it back in so I dont think its that.

Vent to atmosphere wont effect anything unless the BOV is leaking. It ONLY effects right after boost for a split second. metered air is escaping causing it to briefly run rich. If you did have a leaky BOV sucking in air, you would have a bad, high idle that was lean. You would surely run lean even at cruise due to the unmetered air entering and not being compensated for properly.

Haven't been able to check fuel pressure yet.

Do you guys think clicking in my dash could have something to do with it? Sounds like it's coming from near the firewall. Can't hear it under the hood but it's quite loud in the car.

If your car is acting up in the lower rpms, and runs better at cruising speeds then its probably a fuel issue. If your car is acting up in the upper rpms then it could still be a fuel issue or a timing issue... I dont think you are having timing issues... As far as the clicking. Your car will usually make a ticking sound which is a sign of detenation caused from lack of fuel.

Dude, I doubt it's a lack of fuel. It doesn't run better at cruising speeds, it does better when I'm at 10psi boost which makes me think it's getting to much fuel. It also sputters and bucks when decelerating which makes me think it's still getting fuel when it shouldn't.

sounds like your in bad need of a tune... running way too rich, or you could possibly have a bad bad vacuum leak. I had this problem on mine.

I don't have anything to tune with, she's still basically stock. I did look around to see if a hose or whatnot was unplugged, haven't had time for a blt yet. Just changed my TB shaft seals because I know they were shot and made things worst. Think I messed up with the tps.

What have you done, and havent done to the car should be in your description.. Do you have an upgraded fuel pump, injectors, turbo?.. This would be helpful info to know what was done or needs to be done.

Make sure the diaphragm in fpr isnt leaking pull the vacuum line off it and see if fuel is leaking out. If you still have your emission seliniods one of them makes a loud clicking sound that you can here pretty well inside the car.
