I had to fix an exhaust leak at the O2 housing today. And while this was going on I touched the alt. with a wrench. It trhew some sparks. Got in the car and the door light wasnt on gauge light wont turn on Pretty much anything that should work without the key in the ignition didnt. But as soon as you turn the car on BAM everything works, unless you want to here some tunes because the radio will cut of if you push in the clutch. I figure its not the alt. and or battarey because i can drive the car and it wont die. Any help would be nice.

P.S. I have checked everthing I can think of and cant figure it out. I replaced the 80a relay for the alt. and that did nothing.

Ok, I have rechecked everything again today still having the problems. Abuddy here local said check your ECU and this is what i found....

I can not see anything wrong with it so I guess im safe there. Did findout its an EPROM ECU though.Im hopping to take the Alt. off and get it tested but its my DD so its not like I can go without a car....

OK!!!! I fixed it! Thanks to all who called a lose or faulty ground wire! It was sheared in the loom under the radiator going to the fuse box. It is running as good as new!!

Have you checked your relays to make sure they are functioning? Swap the fuse with a working one u have already. Something like your defroster as someone suggested. all U want to do is make sure. The ground going bad would be a whole different issue. Its unlikely he burnt an electric line. it would have to be really bad. It would be more likely a voltage regulator or u fried a cell in your battery. I would bet its a relay or fuse.
