So i was driving my car the other day, shifted and started boosting when my engine died and wouldn't start up...i tried starting it but the starter worked(it cranked) but no response except for explosions in the exhaust.

1.since it cranks i know the starter works
2.the plugs had fuel on them so i believe my fuel system works properly
3.there were no signs of any damage in the engine bay so i think i can rule out anything mechanical
4. i connected my lap and dsmlink gets the ecu online so i think its okay
I checked the plugs against ground when i cranked and i got no spark and from what i've read it could be:

CTS, CAS(crank angel sensor) or CAS(cam angle sensor).

I haven't checked the coil \ distributor yet but it seems odd that one of these stops working while driving but i'm going to check them too.

btw sorry for my poor english.

Best regards
Tobias

Well, if its not getting any spark at all its either your resistor or your coils. Did you check all the plugs to se if they were getting spark? If none are, then its prob teh resistor, if one coil is and the other isnt, then its prob the coil thats bad.

if it cranks and gets fuel it could also be the crank sensor like you said its a pretty easy thing to check if you have access to a multimeter or even if your able to borrow a scan tool from a local parts store and scan your ecu.

well i'm pretty sure the transistor was the problem..

suddenly the car started again after i had been looking around under the hood...the thing is if i moved the transistor(with wires) while the car was running it would stop...

so i thought the wires were probably messed up and i removed the isolation(tape) and started gently tugging and bending on the diffrent wires but the car never died again but now it doesn't run like its supposed to...it leans out way to early and i just plain don't have too much power..what could be wrong...:(

i hate electrical problems!

I hate electrical to. I have they same problem. Coming home from work I was at a light an creeping up till it turned green an went to go an my car just died. No spark at all the coil an wites aren't even a year old. I tested the cam is tested ok. Checked the ecu it's not burnt or smells

I'm sure he fixed the car or pushed it off a cliff by now.
