Cams. Need Help Fast!

Ok so i put my car back together so i can take it to a shop to have them dye the oil and find the leak. I bumped my ignition a couple times to make sure the crank lines up and the cams still line up. Now after i saw that they did. I tried to manually turn the cams to see if they will line up. My cams wont turn. If i bump my car it turns 1/4 turn then locks up. My Crank gear wont turn either. It seems like something is seized. Nothing was seized before. I hear that when the Front main or oil pump goes it seizes the the belt behind the timing belt.

I am in desperate need of help with this car.

Did you start with the basics? Did you put the cams caps back in the correct locations?

You can have the marks line-up on the cams and crank, and still have it wrong. There are also the oil-pump/ rear balance-shaft mark and the front balance-shaft mark. After you install the timing belt, you are supposed to use a wrench (1/2" drive ratchet, really.) to rotate the crank 6 complete rotations, and then recheck the timing marks. That's how many revolutions it takes for all that junk to align again.
I'm not 100% sure what you are saying happened.
Take out the plugs, and try to rotate the crank with a ratchet. That way, if the valves are hitting a piston, you'll be able fo feel it/ hear it, without damaging anything.
Maybe take out the T-belt again and start over, but I'd think the starter has enough torque to bend valves, if that is what happened.

Just make sure not to force it to rotate if it feels like it hit a brick wall. When rotating it with everything in time it will have its easy and not so easy parts of rotating. But with pistons hitting valves, it'll feel like you literally can't move it.

I'd say remove the stuff and retime it following the VFAQ.

Exhaust cam moves fine. INtake cam feels like its hitting a wall. So im asuming it is hitting.

Piston 1 is TDC. All things are lined up. Cams seem to be doing fine. Im missing a chunk of knuckle due to the intake cam. Im going to reinstall the T-Belt and see how this goes.

Alinged EVERYTHING to a T. And i i go down to turn the crank by hand it goes a little less then a 1/4 turn and now its seized again. The car was TDC cams were aligned Timing belt teeth are on perfect The crank was lined up. I dont know what the hell any more. Im getting very pissed at this car and about to part it out and say screw this DSM. I need some help and FAST. Im just about to try and start it till it blows up.

How long was the car apart? Did the block sit a long time without running?

pull the spark plugs out while doing so.

that way it will have 0 compression .

If I were you I would take it part and do it again, because thats what happened to my car I believe. Now I have a hole in a piston and a broken valve. And I was putting in 272's.

Make sure it's not in gear.

How are you checking to see if #1 is at TDC? How are you rotating the cams, with a wrench? If you try to move either cam without rotating the crank, sooner or later a valve will contact a piston.

Just to verify, what position are your dowel pins in? Are they both facing up at TDC - cams in line? Double check for goofy cam. Pop valve cover, look at the lobes on cylinder number one. They should be in a position that allows all of the valves to be closed (exhaust and intake on that one cylinder). Its possible that you have a cam out 180 or its possible that you have a goofy grind on one cam.

Also, how do you know its just the intake cam locking? Did you take off the belt and check? If so, did you check with pistons at neither TDC or BDC (basically with the pistons in the middle of the cylinder) so that you would not contact valves? If so, take a look and see if any of your rockers got crooked when you installed the cam.
