Been searching around and looking at comparisons. But can't make a decision. What camshaft choice for 600-700hp.

Currently have Dks 272/272.

Build will be-

Turbo-Billet wheel dual ball bearing 6265 divided t4 1.0 a/r

6-bolt, I-beams, hd pistons 10.5:1

Ported head, kiggly springs, ss valves, Jmf race smim.

Wont need much room to grow and would like to give up as little bottom end as needed.

Let me know what you recommend.

I was looking at the hl272.

I would like to keep some low and mid range at the cost of top end. Im not looking to make the max hp numbers more a usable rpm range that has a little of everything if you know what I mean.

My friends gsx had a 2.4 stroker motor (g4cs block), borg warner s258 (i think thats what it was), and 280 cams making about 550awhp, ran 11.4 1/4mile with 1.7 60 ft on street tires. The powerband was 4k to 8k rpms and man it was awesome. Seemed like there was nothing faster than it on the road. Even if something had more power it wouldnt hook up like his gsx.

You better plan on getting a fluidampr or better crank pulley, my friend went through 2 brand new oem pulleys in less than 1k miles before he upgraded and never had another problem with it

When you say 280s you leave us all guessing. If they were bc280s they are about as aggressive as kelford 272s. Be more specific.

Sorry i'll have to ask him next time i see him, cant quite remember. I do know it didnt even have adjustable cam gears and he somehow managed to get away with just a rewired walbro 255 pump, braided line, afpr, and 1600cc injectors on e85. Dsmlink and 3" gm maf for tuning.

Huge fan of GSC cams. I run the stage 3's myself and have a 800hp street rod with them.

Those were corrected numbers though. I only look at uncorrected numbers, though its still impressive.

Gsc s2's seem to be the way to go on my setup over the kelford 272's.
