Ok i have 95 gst eclipse with the 6-bolt swap already done to her. i got a break and bought a motor off a friend last time my motor ceased. So now i will most likely buy one from someone i dont know, i may even buy one that needs to be shipped. So what do i look for in the engine? Also if anyone has 6bolt block and head for sale please let me know. I know my motor is gone for sure though. piston is smashed and with the head taken off it still wont turn over. Thanks alot for any help.

Try for low miles. Ask for compression test results. Personally I won't touch a used motor without a compression test first, not worth the headache.

i would recommend you to get a jdm engine with low mile plus you can get a warranty with it
a jdm engine would cost like 1500 bucks plus the putting the new timing belts and water pump , BUT if u have big boy money buy a fully build motor :rocks:

haha. Problem is i have little boy money. im in college wrestling no basically i have no life. i have about 700 bucks to work with so im trying to get out of this cheap! So if anyone has a motor again please let me know!!! thanks!

You can also get a 2.0 non-turbo motor. They do have a higher 9:1 compression though

No.

The non-turbo motor (420a) is not anywhere near the same as the turbo motor (4g63)

The 420a's transmission is on the complete opposite side of the 4g63. Yes you can do the swap, but it will cost a lot. More than the $700 you have. Besides the fact its pointless to do if you already have the 4g63. It's just not practicle.

Look around on this website. A lot of guys part out their cars, you might find something:

Well if he was I have no clue how hard it is to do a 1G swap into a 2G.

Does the transmission hook up from the passenger side on a 1G N/T?

1g turbo and non turbo motors are the same externally, except for the exhaust manifold and a few other things. But, they mount the same.

Also, I would not get a n/t motor and put it in. I would get another turbo motor and rebuild the one you got.
