Later on this week I'm going to look at a 91' gsx. First off, I need to know "all" types of inspections i need to perform to make sure its in good shape. I know compression test, drive it of course, and over all visual inspection of the engine bay and the car itself. But any other ideas? I really want this car. Oh yeah, it has 120k miles.

I really don't know what to say if you know all the visual inspection of the engine bay and car itself. But just to help look for leaks, check out all the fluids and oil, turbo for shaft play or at least ask about it, timing belt how worn it looks, if it is manual ask about and test the clutch. You can also look at the inside of the engine bay and usually tell whether the car was involved in the accident in its front side by the way the metal is in the inside or the engine bay. Hope I help with the a bit, good luck and have fun with the GSX.

Thanks for the help, dont know why i didnt find that thread before. I should be heading to the guys house to check it out. Cant wait to get it. (granted it hasn't been wrecked. So, wish me luck on my first awd turbo dsm. :D

compression is a great thing to check if you have a compression checker. Heres a general question, do the 90 - 96 have any obd models? I do know that in 96 OBDII was started...but Im wondering about OBDI.
