you'll see the shaft was nearly a half inch from even reaching the seal, all that was holding oil in was the metal rubbing metal on the inside of the journal.

you'll see here how deep into the housing this gear was forced in, and littlerly couldn't go any further to reach the seal.

does anyone have the large sproket part # i need for the 1g setup?

Would the large toothed gear work out of my 2g oil pump?

Since it is the helical cut gear (as opposed to straight cut which was found in '90 and early-to-mid '91 models), it is the same as, and thus swappable with, the gear from your 2G. The part number is MD174581 if you are still after it.

Thank for the reply, last night i had already torn apart my 2g oil pump and found that they are indeed identicle, so, that saves me some $ and time.

How did he even get it in backwards? I thought the stubby shaft had a slight taper to it. No way that I would reuse that front case.

it wasn't backwards.

He seemed to have forced it in to begin with, and no i am using another case, I'll post more pics soon.
