When I was installing the freeze plug for the BSE kit, I pounded the steel freeze plug in and the assembly cracked:banghead: It only cracked around the lip of where the seal goes in. So I put alot of JB weld over the cracked part and around the top of t to help the seal. I also put in on the other side of the assembly to help make it seal. Do you think that this will hold? Or am i better off buying a new housing. The plug isn't the plug that comes in the kit, but is a 35 mm freeze plug that I bought from a parts store. I was told that that are the same just have to pound it in. Just want to know if the JB weld will hold the oil pressure?

JB weld is never a permanent fix, if its on the inside look for it to peel off and fall into your internals eventually.

Post a pic of it. As long as you cleaned the surface well and scuffed it up a bit I don't see a problem with it holding. Ive seen jb welded bov flanges. not on my own car of course.

Should have gotten the OEM rubber plug just for this known issue.

Yes on the VFAQ, JB Weld or equivalent is used on the metal freeze plugs.

Well if i post pictures, it will have the jb weld all over it. You wont be able to see the crack. Should i still post some?

I cant figure out how to post the pictures, it says to post a URL but i cant get them to go from my documents to there.

Open up a free photobucket account and upload the pictures onto there. After doing that you can get the URL needed to post pictures into the reply box.

I put the JB weld on thick to see if it would help it seal, I also applied it to the back to try and help hold the oil pressure.

Why wont these pictures work? I started a photobucket and i copied the URL straight from the picture.

To post photos with photobucket go to the album page (in this case http://s974.photobucket.com/albums/ae226/Boomdeeze/Car/) and hover the mouse pointer over the photo you want to include. In the little box that pops up there is a spot that says "IMG Code". Copy that code and paste in to post.

I still have my old oil pump assembly, should I just switch the new oil pump into the old assembly? And get the real plug that was suppose to come with the BSE kit I bought?

I just filled in the crack with jb weld and put it on the back of the cover also for added security and I have been running it for about 3 months now with no problems just make sure you let the jb weld cure before you put the cover to use.
