Last car I brought home was harboring spiders and they got all over the garage. The new car has been sitting outside for 8 years, I assume it has critters here and there. Do I bug bomb the interior and spray as much as I can with ortho bug be gone on the outside/engine compartment?

I would avoid chemicals. Powerwash the outside of the car, than pull the seats, carpet, interior panels and dash out of the interior and clean it all.

bug bomb it, then when you get it home you can pull the interior and clean it. that will minimize the live critters getting into your home and garage.

at the very least get a bunch of the glue traps and place them all over inside for a good week before moving it, that will trap a lot of the living stuff before you drag it home.

barrow someones cat also.

i would never bug bomb a car i planned on sitting and breathing in even after its done, sometimes the chemical stink stays. I would take the time to clean and dry vac the car throwing away trash and removing any bugs. Once the car has started to be cleaned bugs will leave on their own as they dont want to be bothered. i would take to a car wash and use a power dry vac or one at home then park on street until you have completely gone through it and washed it.

LOL at dropping a cat in there for a while!

But for real dude, this shouldn't even be a question to post on the internet.. Do not spray chemicals in your car. Clean it out the right way and enjoy not sitting in a toxic gas chamber.

Make sure to pick up a dog to get rid of all the cats that got rid of all the mice...etc.. LOL

I would imagine you would have to go to a local car wash that thoroughly cleans the interior, under-carriage and as well as the exterior. You could even get it heavily detailed so it removes all of the droppings those critters constantly leave in the cracks and crevices.

I vote against bug bombing. You will definitly kill them all but that chemical smell will stay on the carpet and even blow into your face if you turned on the heater/AC.

Definitly dont park your car near a big tree or a tall grass area. Lots of bugs give off phermones to alert other bugs of their location.

Power washing off the car when it got home scattered a few large spiders. I think sitting on the cement away from a wooded area where it sat for so long will probably cook or drive out most of them. It can sit in the driveway a few weeks.
