BOV Questions!!

Ok so we did a 6 bolt swap into my 2g talon. Everything went solid with the swap. Well i have an Apexi vented bov. When we take the car down the street and get on it the car dies. Would this be due to the bov being vented? We did a complete 6 bolt swap but still the 95 ecu and harness. Thanks for the help.

Did you have your BOV on before the swap? I have mine vented with no GMAF and I have no problems with mine. Does it start right back up? Is that the only time it dies? give some more details if you can (certain RPM).

It does not always but can cause it to die or run rich when you let off.

mine has been venting for the past, i'd say 6 months, i guess i have one of those possessed motors that can handle this, but i know for a fact it would run rough during boost or when you let off it should mess you up just at idle, check to see if maf is plugged in, make sure no vac leaks, and i hope you plugged up the hole on the intake pipe

Well we made sure the maf is connected and everything. And of course we plugged up the whole the Apexi came with a plug. We fixed all vacuum leaks. It will only die when we get on it then let of the gas to shift. The car runs like a champ at idle and will start back up with no hesitation at all. I was using a factory 2g BOV before the swap and it was recirced. Should i buy a new BOV? If so which one can i recirc?

Yea, just re-circulate it man. You should be able to rig up your apexi bov to recirculate. If not, then get a Greddy

Ya you cannot recirculate the apexi. I will just throw on the 1g BOV on there since i got it laying around and wait until i can get the maft kit from sbr. Will my 1g BOV directly replace the 2g without any modifications?

No im not trying to get my post up and it says that you can post questions about venting the bov in the newbie section and i just really wasnt sure if that was the cause of my car dying after wot pulls

Well venting does cause you to run rich between shifts, and when you get up on it it makes you run more rich than if you were just running just normal, so in turn it boggs out your car. 1g does replace the 2g plastic bov pretty easily, but once you get aa gm maf/link/standalone you will be able to vent all you want.

The 1g will not direclty replace the 2g bov. They are completely different
