When i bought my car it came with a 1g crushed bov sounds ok/nice. when i got home i took a even better look at the car and saw that the hose to from the bov to the intake pipe was not there,i asked a friend and he said to buy a hose. i knew what compresser surge is and thats what it was sounding like. I have the hose on know and it dont do that so much. So my question is if i get another bov dose it have to have the hose as well???? and is this just on dsm/1g?,i hear that this bov is the best one for this car......your thoughts thanks guys.

You don't HAVE to have a hose on any BOV. It's just recommended to.

The hose runs from the BOV to the intake manifold... Just measure the length and head to autozone/oreily/advanced/napa etc etc.. and ask them for x amount of vacuum hose. Will cost usually $1 a foot

:ohdamn:
I guess you also dont HAVE to have oil in your motor... its just recommended :idontknow:

^^ Did you read which hose he was talking about? The one between the BOV and the Intake. You don'y have to have it. And i remember reading a post from a guy on this website talking about how it doesn't cause all the negative effects like everyone claims, such as running rich as hell.

And yeah drain the oil from your car.

ROFL, Yea your car will run a lot better if you install a recirculation hose.

yeah thats the hose LOL and that is the first thing on my list....but what you sayin is to run good i should have it on there? DO I HAVE TO HAVE THE HOSE ON AN AFTERMARKET BOV?

It may run better but it will not murder your car without it. It is driveable without it.

It doesn't matter whether the BOV is oem or aftermarket

:ohdamn: Oh my apologies... ok yea i would definitely run the recirculation hose.

That topic has been going on for years now to where im tired of giving advice on it...

Food for thought:
Ive seen cars that run just fine without it... yet ive seen cars that run horrible as well..

If your mass air sensor is before the BOV, then yes, install a recirculation tube between the BOV and intake pipe. If your MAS is after the BOV, then it doesn't matter whether the BOV is recirculated or not.

Please do some searching around here before asking questions like this. This topic has been beaten to death since 2001, so there's plenty of reading here about it.

god dam$ thanks for the help why even bother to write somthing down....thanks:applause:

It shouldn't hurt your turbo, the only thing it should mess with is you air-fuel ratio. Just run it to be safe. But it won't hurt your car if you remove it.

I have no idea what you're trying to say here due to your lack of punctuation and capitalization, and overall poor grammar. Please make an attempt to make your posts legible when posting in the tech forums around here.
