I'm guessing for sales. How many people love that BOV sound? A ton of young kids do and who are the people that buy them, young kids. It makes it easy for them to vent if it is right there. It could also be packaging. What is good for performance may not be good for packaging or for the tech that has to test systems.

Really though, do you think it will even produce a measurable difference on a street/occasional track car?? I don't. Shit, haven't people run 10's or better with their BOV smack dab in the middle of the UICP? That's good enough for me. The wheel was invented long ago people....
