Just to clarify for everyone, there aren't any new instructions in the E-mail I sent. I included the same image I posted here in the thread with a clarification on the direction and sequence in which the pipes are installed. That is referenced in the pictures included with our instruction packet.

We've shipped hundreds upon hundreds of these kits with the very same instructions and only one to two issues per year. We are completely dedicated to customer service so it's absolutely not a problem for us to offer additional assistance when confusion arises. To indicate that our instructions were wrong and that we acknowledged that with new ones when that's not the case is not fair to us or the community seeking information on our kits :)

the instructions say, connect the bov pipe to the throttle body elbow. over the phone you said connect the bov pipe to the smaller pipe, THEN to the throttle body elbow. im not trying to argue here, the kit is great. but the instructions say exactly that.

also the pictures in my instructions didnt match my kit because of the bov flange placement. the bov flange is placed on a different pipe for different kits, therefore having the one universal instructions made it confusing for someone whose never installed a fmic.

also i dont want anyone flaming me for no reason, there arent many peole with hks bov's so thats why everything seemed perfect for you guys. i know there's another guy "this tsi 8## v8" who also has an hks and was confused during the install so its just not me

As I said before, we're happy to help but would like to be given the opportunity prior to any implication on the forums. It's not even a small problem that you were confused and we're happy to clarify, we just want to keep the facts straight for the sake of the community. If you've finished the installation we'd love to see some pictures so post up if you've got 'em :)

no, i wont be able to work on the car till the weekend, and yes I'll post pictures when I'm done. I never wanted to take it to the forums, but it was Saturday, and I didnt want to waste a whole 2 days waiting to call you guys, so I asked the forums, i dont think i did anything wrong.

okay just worked on it today again, i REALLY regret getting the 3.5, I wish i got the 3.0inch thickness. I had to trim so much, and yet the bumper still doesnt fit on correctly, I gota trim more. i took it for a test drive, and blew off the j-pipe connection to the large u shape pipe. the pipes didnt line up perfectly and I think thats why it blew off. I'm gonna pull the bumper off and just move it around some more until everything is lined up perfectly. this is my 3rd time screwing the fmic to the crash bar at a different location.

I too had to trim a lot. It's holding on fine. I blew off the pipes on each side once. The first time I didnt tighten enough, the second time, just pushing a lot of boost. I took it to the track yesterday night and held great.

If the intercooler is pushing against the bumper cover that definitely won't help fitment, alignment of pipes or prevent pipes from blowing off. Get that trimmed enough for clearance and make sure the T-bolts are over the bead on all of the piping and clamped down TIGHT. Once the clamps are all the way over the bead and tightened properly you'll never have to fuss with them again :)

Well I finally got my bov return line in. I bought it from autozone. I believe its a radiator hose. It has a spring in the inside. It should be a bit longer than 12inches and should clear all and work great. I do have an FP intake so perhaps mine would be a bit harder to fit but all should be the same.

Old thread but.. Does anyone have any pics of their SSQV recirculated with the ETS FMIC kit? I just installed my FMIC today and am forced to vent because of my BOV being on the bottom of the pipe... Just trying to get an idea of what I can do.

Its hard to really see mine, but I used some vacuum cleaner like hose from the local hardware store and its flexible enough to work.

Here's a pic before I trimmed it :tease:

I'd not thought of the vacuum cleaner hose and have always gone to the auto parts store to find a molded radiator hose that fit well. That is definitely an easier to find/install solution! :)

Here's the best photo I could muster. Awesome alternative to trying to find funky hoses and using imagination. Best of all, it was $3 from the store :thumb:
