so im sick of this crappy smic setup, the hoses keep popping off making it run like absolute crap (limp mode) so, whats a fairly cheap, fairly nice option for me?i want to go to fmic but looks like ill be spending around $400-500 for it and thats a bit out of my price range

If you join dsm classifieds or other groups like that on facebook, you could score a used brand-name setup for half that, if you're ok with used parts.

yeah i was planning on doing that once i got off of work

Check with another vendor they might have in stock. I also have a cx racing fmic core and vibriant core and both are holding up great. I get all my piping from siliconintakes.com they have the best pricing and everything you would need :)

i would do it that way but, im not sure what all i would need LOL

Why wouldn't it fit it? We have the same bumper unless profile picture isn't right

just looking at it mine looks too close to fit, but ill make it fit >:) or run it without a bumper for a short while

Did you email vrsf and see how long till they get more in? I know there's a few in the classifieds for sale. Unless you have good tools and can do your own fab work, you might have a hard time with the diy style way. If your just looking for more of a bolt on and go. I would wait for a vrsf kit or get a punishment kit or similar kit, or even better ets!

i have lots and lots of tools, but vrsf said they dont know when they will be in stock maybe mid this month. ets fmic, never heard of them maybe ill take a look

I have been there and done that. Do it once and so it right. I bought a "upper end" kinetic fmic for 999 years and years ago and I kept blowing end tank welds at big boost because the end tank metal was so thin. Find a good quality used one in the fs section. Any cx racing or other low end tank cannot handle good boost and will not cool the intake charge as well as a better fmic especially if your maxing out a smaller turbine on e85.

how much boost is "alot" im at 16 and keep loosing hoses LOL

Here's an easy solution. Check ebay (hear me out first) for used intercooler off a Mitsubishi Starion or Chrysler COnquest. It's a nice solid front mount that you can get for under $100.

The first link posted by the OP is identical to the VRSF kit. The only difference is VRSF threads the BOV mounting flange so you can just twist on whatever BOV flange you want instead of having it welded on. For $200 shipped vs $370(and from a company that self admits to hating DSM owners) I'd just go with the first link you posted OP. The thing that matters, the intercooler core, is EXACTLY the same as the VRSF 2G kit. It will flow the same, have the same cooling properties, and all that good stuff. Just buy the kit you first listed.
